Baked beans...not always a favorite...that is until you have tried these baked beans. This baked beans recipe was passed onto me from my Mom. Typically when I have gone to picnics and other events where baked beans are served they are good but definitely not something I would want a second helping of.

With this baked bean recipe the beans are actually baked...that is the point of baked beans right?! Although the can of baked beans has brown sugar added, this recipe calls for more brown sugar AND ketchup. These baked beans are more flavorful and not as runny as they would be had you just heated up the beans directly from the can.

At our house we eat baked beans not only when we cook out on the grill but also when we eat Crispy Onion Chicken. The two just seem to go well together.
