My friend Amanda told me about Death by Oreo Cupcakes on Friday and just two days later, I had to make them. They looked and sounded just too amazing not to make. We are having a small Fourth of July celebration so I decided to bake Death by Oreo Cupcakes for dessert. I am not going to lie...I had to try one tonight and, Oh my God, are they delicious. I mean, they are really, really good. Ken said he could have ate them for dinner - that is how good they are.

I love all sweets but Death by Oreo Cupcakes just might be a new favorite. What is there not to love?! Oreos, chocolate cake, cream cheese icing. WOW. I advise you to bake these cupcakes immediately, in fact...quit sitting there reading this and get baking...you WON'T be sorry. Guaranteed! Can you tell how much I love these?!


Serves   : 
Prep   : 20 Minutes
Bake   : 15 Minutes
Preheat Oven   : 350 Degrees


Ingredients
1 box    chocolate cake mix (prepare as directed on box)
1 package    oreos (regular size)
1 package    mini oreos
8 oz    cream cheese
1 stick    butter
3 3/4 cup    powdered sugar
1 1/4 tsp    vanilla extract


Preparation
1.
Line cupcake pan with liners. Place a regular sized Oreo on the bottom of each. Prepare cake mix, but do not bake at this time.
   
2.
Coarsely crush 1/2 of the remaining Oreos. Add the crushed Oreos to the cake batter.
   
3.
Pour batter into cupcake liners. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
 
4.
Crush the remaining Oreos very fine. Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add vanilla extract.
     
5.
Gradually add powdered sugar. Mix finely crushed Oreos into icing.
     
6.
Ice cooled cupcakes and top with a bite sized Oreo. Refrigerate, if not serving immediately.
