Oven Baked Tacos

I love tacos. Love! Love! Love!...as Ava would say. Oven baked tacos are awesome because the seasoning is homemade and the taco is completely put together. That means no messing around with salsa, cheese, meat. Just put it on your plate and chow down. Of course, you can always add lettuce, sour cream, avocado, or whatever else you want!

Beware, do not over bake or your taco will be soggy. I've done this. It's not bad but a crispy taco is way better!

Serves   : 6
Prep   : 20 Minutes
Bake   : 10 Minutes
Preheat Oven   : 400 Degrees

1 lb    Ground beef
1    Small onion, diced
1   Can green chiles
8 oz   Tomato sauce
2 cups   Cheddar cheese, shredded
10-12   Hard taco shells
1/2 tsp   Chili powder
1/8 tsp   Garlic powder
1/8 tsp   Onion powder
1/8 tsp   Crushed red pepper flakes
1/8 tsp    Dried oregano
1/4 tsp    Paprika
3/4 tsp   Cumin
1/2 tsp   Salt
1/2 tsp   Black pepper

Brown ground beef with onions and chilies.
Drain and add sauce and seasoning. Mix well, cook for a few minutes. Add 1/2 cup water if mixture appears dry.
Spoon mixture into taco shell and stand up tacos in a 9 x 13 glass baking dish.
Top with cheddar cheese and bake 10-12 minutes.
